The 1974 release of The Ramblin’ Man contains many of my favorite Waylon Jennings songs. For me, the standout track is “Memories of You and I”. It’s a song of sorrow, regret, fame, life on the road and growing old. Waylon’s singing on the chorus always hits me hard.
As the lines in my face grow deeper
And the well of my soul runs dry
I find that I drink more and more
From the memories of you and I
And the well of my soul runs dry
I find that I drink more and more
From the memories of you and I
