The Beach Boys – Endless Summer

Around the time of the album’s release in 1974, my older brother received The Beach Boys Endless Summer album as a Christmas gift. I quickly fell in love with every song on the two-record set. I remember taking the album to grade school and playing it for my classmates thinking everyone had to hear these songs. Endless Summer contains hits from 1962–65 so you won’t hear anything from Pet Sounds or the brilliant Wild Honey, but it does have many tracks I still consider among my Beach Boy favorites. Keith McConnell’s illustrations never fail to transport me right back to Oakbrook grade school where a small boy was sharing music that he still finds magical today.
